Ferrari Driving Experience Registration Now Open; 10 Programs for 2012

This year, take driving instruction from Ferrari pros who raced at the Daytona 24. This year’s Ferrari Driving Experience at Canada’s Le Circuit Mont-Tremblant, now open for registration, offers professional instruction from three Daytona 24 Ferrari pilots, Anthony Lazzaro, Jeff Segal, and Nick Longhi. Segal is also a veteran of the Ferrari Challenge series.

To accommodate the growing number of clients seeking to get the most enjoyment from their Prancing Horses, Ferrari has scheduled 10 Ferrari Driving Experience sessions for 2012, including seven Basic and three Advanced level. (The former is a prerequisite for taking the latter.) Ferrari has scheduled two Basic sessions and one Advanced session around the June 8-10 weekend of the Canadian Grand Prix. In the past, many clients have taken advantage of this timing to attend both events.

Find out, by driving Ferrari 458 Italia, California and FF models, why seven-time Formula One Champion Michael Schumacher called the 2.65-mile, 15-corner Le Circuit Mont-Tremblant, northwest of Montreal in Canada’s Laurentian Mountains, “the little Nurburgring.”

The exclusive Ferrari Driving Experience program enters its seventh year in Canada. The range of graduates is broad, from enthusiast beginners to budding racers. “Although we’re not positioned as a racing school, the product we use is certainly capable. Many students, by taking the ladder steps of the program, have moved on to race Ferrari Challenge,” said Andrew Torres, Project Manager of Driving Programs for Ferrari North America.

Occasionally, Ferrari Challenge-type driver training is offered as an extension of the Ferrari Driving Experience. Most recently, a group of students met for a two-day session at Infineon Raceway and time behind the wheel of the 458 Challenge race car. (If interested in this aspect, please inquire with Maria McNeil, who manages the Challenge program at Ferrari North America.)

Capacity of the Basic level is limited to 18 students. Advanced level groups are smaller, usually 12-15 drivers, ensuring more one-on-one attention and coaching. As in racing, the use of telemetry (data capture) in the Advanced level sessions helps drivers see their strengths and areas for improvement.

The Ferrari Driving Experience registration fees are $9,700 (USD) for the Basic level and $11,900 for the Advanced level. The fees include accommodations and all meals at Hotel Quintessence in the five-star Mont-Tremblant resort hotel, as well as shuttles to and from the track. Participants are responsible for their air and ground transportation to the hotel.

Registered drivers may bring guests ($950 fee each) to enjoy the Hotel Quintessence luxury experience, including a mini spa treatment, as well as to attend at the track as a spectator and partake in Ferrari hospitality.
